Papier

This collection is an ode to Paper, the roots of our creativity. Originally designed to support writing, the precious man made material has gone way beyond this sole intended use. Throughout the evolution of civilizations, it has transformed the world, offering support to communication, trade, education, circulation, packaging, protection, decoration, cooking, etc… In the new Cloud era of the 21st century,  I feel blessed that I was born knowing both these dimensions. Today more and more, the precious “material” is relayed by the “invisible”. I want to dedicate this line of artwork to the memory of paper, be it literature, decorative, cultural,  communication, culinary, currency and more. Interestingly, the sky is the limit when it comes to used paper. Intentionally left untreated  and authentic, the paper has patina that only time can perfect. Hence the artwork is always protected in a plexiglas shadow box.
